You know I’m really ill when I have tickets for a sold out Elvis Costello concert in Hong Kong (I think his first time to play here?) and have to pass on going.   So if any of you went, please share the details.

I ended up putting this on Twitter, Facebook and AsiaXpat – and only had responses from AsiaXpat.  Interesting?

I started coming down with this on Thursday night.   I was sitting in front of the computer screen around 10 PM and blacked out.  As in, out of nowhere I had a feeling as if I was falling and then the world went away for a split second and when it came back, everything was on a diagonal for another split second before straightening itself out.  This has never happened to me before and, probably needless to say, it scared the ever loving bejesus out of me.  I lay in bed that night running down a list of info for my gf just in case … without telling her why.  Friday I went into the office as usual but within an hour I was sneezing uncontrollably and all those around me were understandably telling me to go home, which I did.  And by early Saturday afternoon, it was clear that I was in no shape to sit in a concert hall for two hours, even for the great Declan McManus.

Well, I’ve seen him live at least a couple of times before – the show that stands out is when I saw him in London in ’84 with the Pogues opening.

A photo I spotted on Facebook makes it seem as if he was appearing solo “in the round.”   Anyone go?  Any surprises?  What did I miss?
