Vin Diesel Has 1 of the Top 10 Pages on Facebook?

Apparently so. Here’s a giant-sized infographic on Facebook from TechCrunch. (Click on the thumbnail below and then click on the image on the next page to see it full size.)
One thing these numbers don’t tell you is the reason why so many people use Facebook. Millions of words have been written on this; I suppose an easy answer is because you use it because so many people you know use it. Or to promote a business. Or to see pictures of women. Whatever.
The other thing these numbers don’t tell is that regardless of how many people are using Facebook now and regardless of the growth it will continue to have, I’ll predict that within the next couple of years someone will come along and eat Facebook’s lunch, just as they’ve done to MySpace (and Google?). That’s the one constant internet theme – success, especially massive success, seems to be transitory. I remember when my start page was a portal on Excite ….

I think one big reason is that it`s easy. It`s easy to join, easy to become a fan of Starbucks or LadyGaGa. I`m not a fan enough to drink the coffee or buy a concert ticket – that is a bit harder and shows my real value.
Facebook makes money but do they make a profit from those 500 million, of which most are from nearing saturation high GDP countries. Expand in to China and India and they could cliam amother 1.5 billion users. Quite fantastic, except those extra billion will be costing the same $$ amount for facebook to service but won`t have anyhere near the spending power of the current 500 million.
It could end up just folding due to mumbers.
