Managing to live on minimum wage for a month or two is difficult but do-able; you know in just a few weeks you will be free and back in comfort living in excess. No the real problem is when you don't that to look forward to - just the grim knowledge that it's going to be toil and sacrifice and never any hope of things getting better and still seeing those that have begrudge giving even a few crumbs from their table. It would be an experience for them and maybe seeing the other side a little bit more clearly. In "modern communism" it is the other way around ;) "the freest economy" just means that the same rich and powerful are at their freest to do what they like with regards to the economy.
