I've actually gotten a small percentage of good responses from posting resumes, including a very promising interview last week by someone who found me via JobsDB. So it's not a total loss. One just needs to be careful IMHO.

The 'money mule' scam has been around for quite a while. This piece http://www.worldprivacyforum.org/jobscamreportpt1.html details one from 2003/04.

So Spike, if that's what you get, why post resumes at all? I think the lower the level of the job, the less likely any employer is searching these databases. Is anyone searching Monster's database for an Administrative Assitant? I doubt it. Plus, millions of resumes have been stolen from Monster and others. I advise our clients (I teach a job search skills seminar for the 50 & over set) not to post: unknown upside, well known and potentially harmful downside.

The Ladders is nothing more than an aggregator of job boards-which would not be so bad if they had a simple way to apply to posted jobs-but they don't. You still have to have an account at the specific site. So its not that much of a time saver.

That was a lesson learned the hard way...........
