Okay, okay, enough already!  I’ve changed the theme.  Actually, I don’t really care for this theme.  I hate the background.  I’m not in love with the colors.  I don’t like the way it automatically cropped my photo up top.  (I need to find a better photo or crop that one differently, maybe cut out some of the stuff on the right so the IFC isn’t smack dab in the center.)  I don’t like that it doesn’t display the name of the blog in the Firefox tab (and not in the mood this morning to go into the style sheet and find out where that is and change it.)  But it is a 3-column theme as opposed to the older 2-column one.  And I imagine that the text will be easier for my, ahem, more mature visitors to read.

One of the bloggers I follow recently moved his web site from blogger to his own domain using WordPress.  He also chose a white text on black background theme.  I left a comment wondering how many complaints he might get.  His response was that he gets much less traffic than I do and that he doesn’t need to, I think “pander” was the word he used.

Pander or not, and as much as I loved the old color scheme, I publish this blog because I want to communicate.  My ego tells me I want to communicate to as many people as possible.  Fame!  Wealth!  Kim Kardashian knocking at my door!  Maybe but more than likely not.  Still, logic tells me that I must remove barriers to communication and if so many people felt so strongly about the old color scheme, then I feel obliged to change it. (Is this an example of me being like my mother and giving you something with a huge helping of guilt on the side?)

Depending upon what today holds in store, I will spend some time searching for a theme I like better.
