Levon Helm, former drummer and singer with the legendary The Band, is 69 years old. After recovering from throat cancer, in 2007 he released his first solo album in 25 years, Dirt Farmer, and it was nice, and it won a Grammy.

Now he’s back again with Electric Dirt, and I don’t think it’s an understatement to say that this stands shoulder to shoulder with his best work.
